Safe places for men, women and children

Taking care of men, women and children with a wide range of needs is complex. Thanks to friends like you, we can care for men through our Safe Harbor facility, women and their children through Joy House, and community youth at our CrossTrainers Academy- all housed in our historic building near the Marquette University campus.

Milwaukee Rescue Mission's facility, at 19th and Wells, is over 230,000 square feet. The first phase of construction took place in 1883, when it was used to house the University of Wisconsin. Over $10 million in renovations have taken place in the building since it was first purchased and occupied by the Mission in 1983. Classrooms had to be converted into living space to accommodate the hundreds of people who live here every night. Heating and cooling facilities were updated, security measures installed and computer training facilities added to ensure that our guests were equipped to support themselves once they completed their stay at the Mission.

We invite you to take a tour of our facilities to see how we use the gifts we receive to provide comprehensive Christian care to our community's neediest people.
